West Midlands Police arrested a 15-year-old boy on Tuesday evening

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault and wounding after a 16-year-old was stabbed.

The victim was taken to hospital after being attacked in Foxton Road, Alum Rock, Birmingham, on Tuesday evening, police said.

The West Midlands force said the boy's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The 15-year-old was detained at about 22:00 BST and remains in police custody for questioning.

Officers asked witnesses to contact them via their website or by calling 101.
