Wildlife trust plans to refurbish public areas
The trust's application said the Town Bridge area was underutilised and “in need of refurbishment”

New public areas could be built in Trowbridge to “improve people’s enjoyment of the area”.
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust has submitted planning applications proposing work to the small park beside the Town Bridge, on the western bank of the River Biss, and at the Stone Mill site, near The Shires centre.
The trust which also hopes to improve the "town's connection to the river" has proposed new seating areas in an "amphitheatre" format, tree and wildflower planting. It said the Town Bridge area was in need of refurbishment.
Meanwhile, the Stone Mill site proposals include resurfacing works and the installation of a decked viewing area.
The decision deadline for the applications is 10 June, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service

If approved, the wildlife trust would be carrying out the work in partnership with Wiltshire Council as part of the wider River Biss Corridor Improvements project.
The plans said the proposals comprised a “high-quality development that will greatly improve the appearance, usability and environmental benefit of the public realm, whilst also providing much more usable, enjoyable space for the local community".
