A man has been charged with murder after another man was found with stab wounds in a village.

Hertfordshire Police said it was called by paramedics to Cattlegate Road in Northaw, between Potters Bar and Cuffley, at about 10:45 BST on Wednesday.

Kieran Roche, 30, of Station Road, Cuffley, was charged with murder in the early hours of Saturday and is due to appear in court, following the death of a man in his 20s.

Det Insp Justine Jenkins, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: "We are continuing to carry out enquiries to establish a timeline of events that led to this tragic incident.

"I would request that if anybody has information that they feel is relevant to the investigation that they make it known to the investigation team and report it to the police."

Mr Roche was due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court. The dead man has yet to be named by police.
