Members of the public can now have their say about next year's budget for the Tees Valley Combined Authority.

Leaders of the combined authority's five councils - Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland, and Stockton-on-Tees - have approved the draft budget.

Key priorities for 2025-26 include growing the region's economy and boosting culture and tourism.

The combined authority's cabinet will meet again on 31 January.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service said Brenda Harrison, Labour leader of Hartlepool Council, raised some concerns about public consultations.

She said: "I wouldn't imagine that everybody looks at the website - I just wondered if there was any other way of bringing that to people's attention?"

Group director of finance and resources, Gary Macdonald, said: "We publish it on the website, so it's open to basically anyone to comment."
