Four arrests after man seriously injured in robbery

Police have arrested four people after a man was left with serious injuries following a robbery in Worksop.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers were alerted to an assault taking place in Bridge Place at about 06:00 BST on Tuesday by CCTV operators from Bassetlaw District Council.

The force said the 33-year-old victim was approached by four men who attempted to extort money from him before taking his phone and assaulting him.

The victim was taken to hospital, officers said.

Two men aged 31 and 36 were detained a short time later on suspicion of robbery, committing grievous bodily harm with intent and assaulting a person causing actual bodily harm.

A 45-year-old man was located a few hours later and arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent and robbery, while a 36-year-old man was detained in the early hours of Wednesday on suspicion of robbery.
