A man in his 30s has been seriously injured in a collision between two cars and two motorcycles.
Emergency services were called to the A169 Saltersgate Bank, Pickering, shortly before 15:00 BST on Sunday.
North Yorkshire Police said the collision involved a black Peugeot 2008 SUV and a red Suzuki Celerio as well as a Yamaha Tracer and a Kawasaki KLE.
One of the bikers, a man in his 30s from Selby, is in a critical condition in hospital, the force said on Monday, and confirmed no one else was injured.
According to police, the Peugeot and the two motorbikes had been travelling northbound towards RAF Flyingdales shortly before the crash, while the Suzuki had been travelling southbound.
The road was closed until 22:00 BST.
A police spokesperson said: "Our thanks go to members of the public who stopped to assist at the scene.
"We ask that the public do not speculate on the circumstances of the collision as this may affect court proceedings in due course."
Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact the force.
