Residents told to return to flats after stand-off

A man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences following a stand-off with armed police in Sheffield.
Officers were called to the Gateway apartment block on Broad Street just after 19:00 GMT on Monday to reports of a man with weapons.
A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray, criminal damage, possession of a firearm, threats to kill and communicate with a bomb hoax.
In an update just after 15:30 GMT, police said residents who had been evacuated from their apartments as a result of the incident could now return home.

Dozens of people had been forced to spend two nights away from the their homes due to "increased risk to their safety".
The force said specialist officers had since carried out a full search of the building and it had been deemed safe.
It added that all roads in the area had been reopened.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: "We would like to thank those who have been affected for their continued support while emergency services conduct their work."
Sheffield Parkway, which was closed on Monday, has reopened with public transport resuming as normal.
