Murder investigation launched after fatal stabbing

A 19-year-old man died after being stabbed in the early hours of Tuesday morning, police said

A man has been arrested in connection with a murder investigation in Kent, police have said.

Police were called to reports of a serious assault at a private address in Thorold Road, Chatham, at about 03:10 GMT on Tuesday.

Officers and paramedics attended the scene where a man was treated for injuries consistent with stab wounds, a police spokesperson said.

A 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said his next of kin has been informed.

A man in his 30s, from Chatham, has since been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody, police said.

A cordon was in place on Tuesday, closing the street and an adjacent alleyway.
