More than 60 schools across parts of Wales are closed as icy conditions saw temperatures drop as low as -6C (21.2F) overnight.
According to Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion councils, 62 schools have been closed on Friday because of overnight wintry showers that turned to ice.
The Met Office said the conditions led to icy patches in low-level areas, while higher levels had seen snowfall of between 1cm (0.39in) and 3cm (1.18in). A yellow weather warning for ice was in place until 11:00 GMT.
National Grid said hundreds of properties that suffered power cuts in West Wales and Pontypridd on Thursday had since had power restored.

A yellow weather warning for ice was in place until 11:00 GMT on Friday
Forecaster Simon Partridge said the chill stemmed primarily from "a little ridge of high pressure moving across the UK overnight", adding "the main difference between that and previous nights is the winds are a lot lighter".
"Friday is really the end of the really cold weather as things turn back to average by the time we get into the weekend," he said.
The Met Office urged people to check road conditions and public transport timetables before travelling, and to plan to leave home at least five minutes earlier than normal.

Pembrokeshire County Council said icy conditions on roads across the county were "treacherous", and warned people to only travel "if essential".
Crews were gritting the roads overnight and throughout the morning, it said, adding black ice was being reported across the county and some roads were closed.
