"Buachaille Etive Mor at 06:00, taken from across the road at Beinn a' Chrulaiste, the light is a car going north on the A82," says Donald Maclellan.

Peak viewing: "This photo of my partner, Grant, was taken at the top of Schiehallion on what began as a miserable, overcast day only to break the cloud level to stunning sunshine and a cloud inversion," says Ashley McLean.

Hey mister: "Taken on an early misty morning in Tarbert while on a cycling tour," says Anthony Valenti.

"Standing on the most southerly tip of Scotland at the Mull of Galloway, I was delighted to watch gannets fly low around the cliffs as they prepare for their migration," says Mark Turnbull.

An atmospheric shot: "Some of the action from a re-enactment weekend, organised by the Battle of Prestonpans (1745) Heritage Trust and the Scottish Battlefields Trust," says Jim Innes. "The attention to detail was amazing. A marvellous weekend for all the family."

"On a recent visit to Mull, and with the assistance of a fantastic guide, I spent three hours tracking this otter," says David Ellison. "After lying for an hour on the rocky beach while he slept, he woke stretched and this photo resulted."

"And there was light," says John Dyer at Motherwell Library.

Flower power: "This beautiful picture was taken by my daughter, Chloe Swinney, when heading to the outdoor pool in Gourock," says Carolyne Swinney. "The colours of the flowers were just so beautiful."

"A grey day in Golspie for my husband and his golfing partner, and the camera unexpectedly took the photo in black and white to match the weather," Jennifer MacNab.

"I had arrived at Harelaw Reservoir near Neilston early in the morning this week intending to photograph dragonflies but couldn't resist taking a photo of this downy swan feather and its reflection on the calm surface of the water under a clear blue sky," says Steven Lawson.

"I thought I’d share my photo of a Buff-tailed bumblebee enjoying breakfast on a freshly opened poppy," says Neil Dawson.

Doggie paddle: "Archie enjoying a dip in the crystal waters of Luskentyre Beach, Harris," says Andrew Agnew.

"What a stunning day in the hills," says Daniel White. "I hope you like this snap of the cloud inversion we were treated to on the way up the Curved Ridge in Glencoe."

"Driving up to Kenmore to do a bit of survey work, I came across this lovely friendly deer at the side of the road behind a fence," says Scott Wilson. "Hope you like it and share it for everyone to enjoy."

Toying with an idea: "Taken at Crail, great idea," says Clair Robbie of this beach library for children to play with on the shore.

The Pups of Glencoe: "Amazing view from the Pap of Glencoe looking over Loch Leven, was the perfect spot for lunch," says Jess Grant. "My husband, Douglas, with our spaniels, Finn and Cooper - waiting for their share of the sandwiches."

Roamin' around: "I wonder if these Roman soldiers, defending the cycle track near Kilmacolm, are feeling gloomy about the Scottish weather," says David Michael.

Fur-ever friends? "This is my sister’s dog, Alfie, having a chat with a new friend over the garden wall," says Mairietta MacSween. "Taken on the Isle of Scalpay in the Western Isles, on a glorious sunny day."

"My daughter Maggie Gallagher, who's five, with her snail and garden she made him," says mum Sinead. And for anyone wondering, we asked, and she named the snail Twinkles.

On a roll: "Peigi enjoying a harvest sunset overlooking Dunblane, a favourite time of year to burn off some collie energy on the bales," says Gillian Richardson.

"A long exposure of sunset at Meal Beach, Shetland," says Andrew Briggs.

"This is the fishery patrol vessel Minna returning up the river Clyde to Clydebank," says Tommy Bamford.

Moonlighting: "A photo I took of the night sky at Loch Ossian," says Gayle Samson.

"On a perfectly still evening off the south-west coast of Mull, a kayaker enjoys the colours cast by the setting sun," says David Hughes.

"While on holiday in Lewis I was lucky enough to capture the aurora shining," says Freck Fraser.

"A spectacular west coast sunset in Connell," says Shona Hendry Kemp.
