Part of the M42 in Warwickshire has been closed because of a lorry fire.

National Highways said it was affecting a southbound section between junction 10 for Tamworth and nine for the M6 Toll.

It said the closure had caused congestion of more than two miles and added: "Due to the unpredictable nature of lorry fires, we're unable to give an estimate for reopening."

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "There is a lot of smoke on both carriageways."

National Highways advised people to allow plenty of extra journey time if they needed to take that route.
