Drivers have been warned about thieves placing cones and barriers in the road after a car was stolen in Hampshire.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said a Ford Focus was stolen on Jacobs Gutter Lane, Totton, early on Sunday after the driver got out to move the obstructions in the road. It has since been recovered.

Another report of cones and barriers being placed on the same road was received on the previous day.

Police said the incidents were being investigated and patrols had been stepped up in the area.
