A Thai restaurant has been forced to shut after a car hit its front window.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was called at 00:15 on Sunday to reports of the crash in Northdown Road, Margate.

A spokesperson said the service was there to assist Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb).

A social media post from TY-8 restaurant said it would be closed until further notice.

A 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with the collision and was released on bail pending further enquiries, Kent Police said.

A cordon was also put in place as a precaution due to concerns about a possible gas leak following the two-vehicle collision.
