Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was hit in the face by a pellet from a BB gun fired out of a moving car.

She was walking along High Street, Tewkesbury, at about 21:45 BST on Saturday when a car pulled alongside her and the rear passenger window was wound down, police said.

A male attacker fired at her from the moving vehicle and she was hit near her nose.

She described the attacker as being a white man in his early 20s with light coloured hair, police said.

The car was described as a navy blue, BMW estate and the driver sped off towards Mythe Bridge after the woman was hit.

A number of people were in the area at the time and officers are asking anyone with information, who saw the car or who may also have been targeted, to make contact.

They would also like to hear from anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage that might be relevant.
