A cyclist in her 30s died at the scene, police said

Two people have been arrested after a female cyclist died in a crash in Leicestershire.

Police were called to the A6 at Mountsorrel at about 23:45 BST on Friday after a collision involving a bike and a Mercedes ML250 car.

The cyclist, who was in her 30s, died at the scene.

Leicestershire Police said a 53-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman have been arrested and released under investigation.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or any motorists with dashcam footage of anything connected to the crash to come forward.
