A fourth man has been found guilty of murdering a man while he attended a family funeral in County Kerry.

Thomas Dooley, who was 42, died after he was attacked by a gang armed with weapons at Rath Cemetery on 5 October 2022.

The murder trial had heard he suffered severe stab wounds - one of which severed an artery - and a chop wound to his arm.

Three men and a teenager have already been convicted of the graveyard murder.

Mr Dooley, a father of seven, lived at Hazelwood Drive, Ballyspillane in Killarney, County Kerry.

On Tuesday, a jury at the Central Criminal Court in Cork found Michael Dooley, 29, of Bay 11, Halting Site, Carrigrohane Road in Cork, guilty by unanimous verdict, according to Irish broadcaster, RTÉ.

Last week the jury found the dead man's brother-in-law, 43-year old Thomas Dooley Senior, guilty of murder, along with the victim's 21-year old cousin, Thomas Dooley Junior.

Both convicted men gave their address as Bay 10, Halting Site, Carrigrohane in Cork.

Patrick Dooley,36, of Arbutus Grove, Killarney, in Co Kerry, the younger brother of the deceased man, and a teenager, who has not been named, were also convicted of Mr Dooley’s murder.

The jury will resume its deliberations on Thursday in the case of the final accused man, 42-year old Daniel Dooley of An Carraigin, Connolly Park, Tralee, Co Kerry.
