A woman runner was sexually assaulted by a man as she past him at a bus stop, police have said.

The 27-year-old was running near Montpellier Gardens in Cheltenham on 10 June, when she was smacked on her bottom by a man waiting for the 94X bus at about 19:00 BST.

The man was described as being white, under 30, with short, spiked mousey brown hair. When challenged by the woman he "laughed, apologised and then he got onto the 94X bus to Gloucester", police said.

Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the incident.

The man was said to have been wearing a red Adidas zip-up jacket and spoke with an Irish accent.
