A man has been arrested after a truck was driven into the gates of the Russian Embassy in Dublin.
It happened outside the building at Orwell Road in Rathmines at about 13:30 local time on Monday.
Video footage of the incident, posted on social media by Irish broadcaster RTÉ, shows the vehicle reversing into the gates.
Gardaí (Irish police) said they are "investigating an incident of criminal damage".
The detained man was taken to Rathfarnham Garda Station and he remains in custody.
A spokesperson for Desmond Wisley Ecclesiastical Supplies confirmed to PA news agency that they were aware of the crash involving their lorry, but made no further comment.
In a tweet, Russian Embassy officials said Garda officers had "stood idle" during the incident.
The embassy condemned the "criminal act of insanity" and accused Ireland of being in breach of the Vienna Convention by not protecting the embassy from damage.
"The incident is cause of extreme concern. We believe that no people of sound mind could support such senseless and barbaric actions," the embassy said.
