A shop owner has been fined £660 for selling alcohol to a teenager.
Thavaraja Thevakapilin, who runs the Premier shop in Scotland Street, Ellesmere, Shropshire, was also ordered to pay costs of £1,000.
The prosecution was brought by Shropshire Council’s trading standards service after test-purchase was carried out by a volunteer in June last year.
Telford Magistrates' Court heard the 15-year-old was able to buy a bottle of WKD Blue without being questioned about their age.
The council carried out the check after being told age-restricted products were being sold to minors from the premises.
Shropshire Council said Mr Thevakapilin had previously been advised on the law relating to age restricted products and how to avoid selling products to children.
