Police have located two air rifles after a burglary that prompted a response by armed officers.
Officers were called to reports of suspicious activity on Rigbourne Hill in Beccles at 12:57 BST on Tuesday, before they received a further call reporting a house burglary on the same street.
Members of Suffolk Police's roads and armed response team attended and "reassurance" patrols are being carried out.
Police said the investigation was ongoing and that no arrests had been made.
It was reported that a firearm was stolen during the burglary, but police said that had since been confirmed as two air rifles, which have now been recovered.
Officers are appealing for witnesses after two men were seen leaving the address.
The first was wearing dark-coloured trousers, a dark or navy blue jumper, a black baseball cap and black trainers.
The second was pushing an orange bicycle and wearing a hooded jumper with a white, blue and black T-shirt, blue shorts and white trainers.
Police said residents would continue to see an increase police presence in the area,
