A Radio 1 DJ has helped a fan to propose in front of 2,000 music fans at a rave event.

Nick Clarke popped the question to girlfriend Annie Harper on stage, after messaging the host of Radio 1's Drum & Bass show, Charlie Tee, to ask if she could help out.

At Sunday's event, under the Nene Parkway flyover in Peterborough, Charlie Tee pretended she wanted to take a photo of everyone partying under the structure and pulled Nick and Annie up on stage.

It was only when Nick got down on one knee and the message ‘Nick B2B Annie 4 Eva?’ appeared that Annie realised what was happening.

After saying "yes", Annie called the experience "the best day of my life".

Nick and Annie met at the three-day dance music event, called Unitee at Under, last year, so Nick wanted to propose in the same spot.

"What an honour it was to facilitate this amazing couple's engagement," said Charlie Tee, in a post on Instagram.

"Nick messaged me the week of Unitee at Under asking if he could do something special and we just knew we had to make it the moment of a lifetime for them both.

"The biggest congratulations to Nick and Annie on their engagement."
