Parking restrictions have been put in place along the north and eastern coast due to the partial closure of the main route between the north and the island’s capital.

The A18 Mountain Road is set to be shut between Ramsey Hairpin and the Bungalow for the first of two phases of preparatory works for the TT races.

The road will be closed from 09:00 until 22:00 BST on 23 April.

As a result of the traffic diversion on the Ramsey to Laxey Coast Road, parking has been suspended on Ballure Road in Ramsey and on part of New Road in Laxey Village.

The Department of Infrastructure said traffic cones would be put in place to prevent parking, with the restrictions lifted outside commuter periods in Laxey.

The second phase of the Mountain Road works is set to be carried out on 29 and 30 April.
