Arrests after early hours city centre disorder

Two men have been arrested after disorder broke out in Birmingham city centre in the early hours.

The violence erupted at the junction of Oozells Way and Broad Street, at about 04:00 BST. Two men were later taken to hospital.

A 26-year-old sustained head and chest injuries that could be life-changing, while another man, 23, suffered a facial injury not thought to be serious.

Both were arrested on suspicion of affray and will be questioned in due course, West Midlands Police confirmed.

Anyone who was in Broad Street at the time and saw what happened has been asked to contact the force via its website or 101.
