Firefighters said they had been forced to take action over motorists using their station to park or turn around.

A Facebook post, external from Brixham Fire Station said it put up a sign telling people not to at the Bolton Road site.

It added there had been a "number of occasions" where vehicles had used the site for parking or turning.

Damage to the fire station and several near misses had been reported because of the issue, firefighters said.

The station's crew said drivers using the site to park or turn around in, put other road users, pedestrians and responding firefighters at risk.

"Please do not use the fire station to turn around or park," the post said.

"We have unfortunately had damaged caused to the property and several near misses which we would like to prevent."
