Man charged with killing pedestrian in hit-and-run

A man has appeared in court after the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a car.
A victim, who was in his 20s, died after being hit by a car on Oilmills Road, between Pondersbridge and Ramsey Mereside, in Cambridgeshire, at about 23:00 BST on Saturday.
Marcin Pilarski, 33, of West Street, Chatteris, has been charged with causing death by careless driving while unfit through alcohol, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, and driving with no licence or insurance.
He appeared before magistrates in Peterborough on Monday. A date for his next court appearance has not yet been set.
Cambridgeshire Police has appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage as well as anyone who may have seen the victim on Oilmills Road prior to the incident, or anyone who saw a silver Astra after the collision.
