Three teenagers have been arrested after a large fire broke out in a derelict care home.

The building, known locally as the Leonard Cheshire Home, in Ampthill was engulfed in flames on Sunday afternoon.

Bedfordshire Police shut Woburn Street, from the rugby club to the town centre, while crews brought the fire under control.

Officers said three teenagers had been arrested on suspicion of arson offences and bailed "pending further enquiries".

They appealed for anyone with information to call the non-emergency line 101.
