Man charged with murder over alleged assault
Allen Adeyemi Tejan died after suffering serious head injuries

A man has been charged with murder following an alleged assault.
Emergency services were called to Lily Street, in the Millfield area of Sunderland, at about 08:40 BST on Wednesday.
Allen Adeyemi Tejan, 40, suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital in the early hours of Thursday, Northumbria Police said.
A 53-year-old man has been charged with his murder and appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court on Friday.
The man was remanded in custody and is due before Newcastle Crown Court on 24 May.
Det Ch Insp Matt Steel from Northumbria Police urged people to avoid any speculation and to get in touch with the police if they had any information.
“The last 48 hours have been incredibly difficult for Allen’s family and we will continue to offer them any support they need, as they attempt to come to terms with their loss," he said.
