Police have cordoned off part of a busy city retail park following an assault.

Norfolk Constabulary said it was called to Riverside Retail Park in Norwich, Norfolk last night after a man in his 30s was attacked by a group of males at about 23:00 BST.

The man was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment and was later discharged, the force added.

The police cordon, which stretches to nearby residential properties, is expected to be lifted today.

Forensic teams have been spotted at the scene

Michael, who lives nearby with his young daughter, said he heard a "disturbance going on" last night.

"It's very rare things happen here. It's quiet, very quiet," he added.

Another witness, who wished to remain anonymous, told the BBC that he saw what looked like a large fight at about 23:00 BST.

He described one man being "ganged-up on" and that he was left "disturbed" by what he had seen.

Police said no arrests had been made.

The retail park is close to Norwich train station and a number of bars and restaurants.

B&M remains open.
