Three people in hospital after seven-vehicle crash

Three people have been injured in a multi-vehicle crash.

The crash took place shortly before 09:30 GMT on 15 January on Ayresome Grange Road, in Middlesbrough.

The road was closed in both directions while emergency services attended the scene.

North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) confirmed three people had been taken to hospital following the crash.

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 09.27 GMT this morning (Monday 15 January) to reports of a multi-vehicle road traffic incident on the A1032 in Middlesbrough.

"We dispatched three ambulance crews to the scene and transported three patients to The James Cook University Hospital for further treatment."

Cleveland Fire Brigade said the crash involved seven vehicles and dispatched three fire engines to the scene.

The fire service confirmed the incident had concluded shortly after 11:00 GMT.

The extent of the injuries suffered by those in the crash are unknown.
