The body which runs Jersey's ports is considering the future of a passenger cafe, after no companies wanted to take it on.

In 2020, Ports of Jersey invited tenders from interested parties into running the cafe at Elizabeth Harbour, in St Helier, but no applications were submitted.

Deputy Kirsten Morel told the States JPRestaurants had already secured the airport catering tender, and Ports of Jersey invited the firm to operate the site.

He said the current agreement with JPRestaurants ended in 2026 and another tendering process had produced the same lack of interest from other companies. He added Ports of Jersey was "exploring alternatives for next summer".
