A man was assaulted during a fight that broke out near a school in Leicester.

Leicestershire Police said the 39-year-old man sustained injuries to his face in the attack by two people at about 15:20 BST on Friday in Avebury Avenue.

The fight occurred close to a local school and happened when children were being collected, the force added.

Police believe the assault "may have been witnessed by people in the area" and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
