Newcastle bus tour to parade cup ahead of party

Newcastle United will tour the city on Saturday before a grand party at Town Moor

Newcastle United's open top bus parade to mark their Carabao Cup win will see them tour the city for two hours ahead of a big outdoor party.
Saturday's parade from St James' Park, which will head through Newcastle city centre and end at Town Moor, will take place between 16:00 and 18:00 GMT.
The celebration at Town Moor will also feature a live band, special guests and a full screening of the cup final. Players will then make their way on to the stage alongside boss Eddie Howe.
Supporters have been warned to plan their journeys ahead of time for what is being billed as one of the biggest events in the city's history.
The start of the route will see the squad head towards Gallowgate and on to Percy Street.
Tens of thousands of Geordies expected to line the streets.
Newcastle City Council announced the following roads, external will be closed from 16:00 to allow fans to watch the parade:
Barrack Road, from Stanhope Street to St. James Boulevard
Gallowgate
St James Boulevard, from Westgate Road to Gallowgate
Percy Street
Blackett Street
New Bridge Street West (Westbound), from John Dobson Street to Pilgrim Street
Barras Bridge
St. Mary's Place, from John Dobson Street to Barras Bridge/Percy Street
Section will reopen on a rolling basis once the parade and all the people following had passed, the council said.
Closures for the Town Moor event will also include:
Great North Road, from Blue House roundabout to Claremont Road including the slip roads from Central Motorway north and southbound to Barras Bridge and Great North Road, from 12:00 to 21:30 GMT
Barras Bridge, between St Marys Place and Claremont Road, closed from 16:00 to 21:30 GMT
Claremont Road, between Queen Victoria Road and Barras Bridge, closed from 16:00 to 21:30 GMT
