Islanders who are "most at risk" are being reminded of the importance of receiving the Covid-19 autumn booster vaccination.

Guernsey's public health said the programme, external was being offered free of charge and would primarily be delivered by primary care such as GP surgeries.

It said those eligible, which includes those over the age of 65, care home residents and other people in a clinical risk group, would be sent invitations.

Public health said the booster vaccination remained the "most effective method for protecting yourself, and others around you, from this potentially severe illness".

It said the vaccination team would provide vaccines to those who were unable to visit their GP surgery and for children aged six months to 11 years in clinical risk groups.

For those in Sark and Alderney "arrangements are being made" to send the vaccine over.

The programme is due to run until late December.

Public health said GP surgeries may also offer flu vaccinations at the same time and both vaccines will be administered free of charge.
