A man in his sixties was kicked and robbed of his electric bike, police have said.
Cleveland Police are investigating after the incident at around 14:00 BST on Thursday, on 1825 Way in Stockton.
The victim was approached by two men on a black and red Yamaha motorbike, who kicked him from his e-bike before assaulting him and stealing it, officers said.
He was left with facial injuries.
A police spokeswoman said the suspects attempted to punch the man to steal the Cube Reaction Race E-bike, before the victim rode off along 1825 Way towards Stockton.
They then kicked the man from the bike before assaulting him and stealing it.
One man, described as wearing a black puffer jacket, blue or grey bottoms and a black balaclava, made off on the Yamaha motorbike, while the other, described as wearing all black and a black motorcycle helmet, fled on the electric bike, the spokeswoman added.
Both made off in the direction of Bowesfield Crescent.
Witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, are being urged to contact the police.
