Man, 61, charged over fatal lorry and car crash

A man has been charged 18 months after the driver of a car died following a crash.

The crash, involving a blue Volvo articulated lorry and a blue Mini Cooper, happened near Sherborne on the A30 at Babylon Hill, on 20 February 2024 shortly before 16:10 GMT.

The driver of the Mini, a man in his 20s from Yeovil, was taken to hospital by air ambulance. He died in hospital the following day.

Dorset Police said a 61-year-old man from Stibbington in Peterborough had been charged with causing death by careless and/or inconsiderate driving.

He is due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday.
