Officers are appealing for information after a serious sexual assault in New Basford.

Nottinghamshire Police said a teenage girl reported being assaulted in Goodcliffe Street at about 20:00 BST on 12 September.

The force said the girl approached a group of people at a tram stop in Shipstone Street before being taken to a nearby alleyway by an unknown male who sexually assaulted her.

CCTV images have been released of two people officers want to speak to as part of the investigation.

Det Insp Hannah Frame said: "We'd strongly advise them to make themselves known to us, so that we can ask them a few questions."

She added specially trained officers were continuing to support the teenage girl.

The force said it had been carrying out daily police patrols in the area while the investigation continued.

Anyone who recognises the people in the images is urged to contact the police.
