Arrest after crash leaves pedestrian badly injured

An 18-year-old man has been arrested following a crash in Surrey which has left a pedestrian in hospital with serious injuries.

The collision, involving two cars and the pedestrian, happened in Send just after 22:00 BST on Sunday.

The driver of one of the vehicles has since been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, leaving the scene of a collision, driving whilst unfit through drink/drugs and driving with no insurance.

He has been released on bail, Surrey Police said.

The pedestrian remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to hospital, Surrey Police said.

Send Road was closed for several hours between the junctions with Tannery Lane and Send Marsh Road.

Any witnesses, or those with CCTV, dashcam or helmet cam footage that could help the investigation, are asked to contact police.
