A pedestrian has been seriously injured in a crash which has closed part of the A3, including the Hindhead Tunnel.
Police were called at 14:45 BST to the southbound carriageway near Bramshott, Hampshire.
A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a Kia Ceed, officers said.
The southbound carriageway has been closed between the A283 near Milford, Surrey, and the Liphook Interchange, National Highways said.
It said traffic on the northbound carriageway was stopped temporarily to allow an air ambulance to land.
Hampshire police have appealed for witnesses who saw "a man walking along the A3, on either carriageway, from 14:30 onwards".
