Two councils have clubbed together to offer residents a new online tool, offering advice on more than 90 topics ranging from household chores to staying active.
AskSARA was launched by Slough Borough Council and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) on Monday.
The authorities said the tool was free, did not require users to sign up and did not collect personal data.
RBWM's cabinet member for health Catherine del Campo said the service would help people "stay independent for longer and make informed choices about their wellbeing".
"It's simple, free-to-use, and puts residents in control," she said.
Those seeking advice select a subject and are guided through a set of questions before being given a "tailored report with impartial recommendations", RBWM said.
The advice is created by occupational therapists and suggests further support if needed.
Slough Borough Council's lead member for adult social care Anna Wright said: "The main benefit of AskSARA is that it provides residents with instant, personalised advice on practical equipment and technology to help them live independently.
"Carers and family members can use the online tool as well, which also signposts to useful local services."
It was funded by the Department of Health and Social Care's Accelerating Reform Fund.
