A man has suffered "traumatic injuries" following a fall from rocks, States of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (SJFRS) has said.

The fire service said it received a call at about 20:00 BST on Friday and deployed land crews and its inshore rescue boat to the scene south of Havre Des Pas.

It said the rescue was "time critical" and "made more complex by a rapidly rising tide, which posed a risk to casualty and rescuers".

It said the Jersey Ambulance Service and Jersey Coastguard also attended the scene.

"Paramedics provided urgent on scene treatment while SJFRS assessed safe options for evacuation.

"The decision was made to transfer the casualty into the fire service rescue boat, and he was then moved to a safe landing point where a waiting ambulance transferred him to hospital.

"We would like to thank our emergency service partners for their crucial support in resolving this incident to a safe conclusion," SJFRS said.
