A Fatal Accident Inquiry into the death of a gamekeeper in an all-terrain vehicle crash in Aberdeenshire is set to be held next May.

Matthew Burden, 36, died after the incident on the Tarland to Tillypronie road in January 2022.

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) said it expected the inquiry would consider the use of the seatbelt in the Can-AM Traxter and a "fault and knowledge of the fault with the driver's door".

It was set for the week beginning 19 May at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and is expected to last about four days.

COPFS said it also expected the inquiry to look at health and safety advice for all-terrain vehicles and the processes and procedures for maintenance and reporting faults.

Mr Burden, from the Tarland area, had been employed as a gamekeeper by East Tillypronie Sporting Ltd.

His family expressed their "devastation and sorrow" at the time of his death.
