Football club investigating alleged racist abuse

A football match was temporarily halted after an apparent incident of racist abuse.

Kettering Town's Southern League Premier Division Central home game with Harborough Town at Latimer Park on Monday was stopped for more than 10 minutes after the alleged incident.

Writing on X, the club said: "We strongly condemn racism and discrimination in all forms, it has no place in society or football."

The BBC has contacted Northamptonshire Police for a comment.

The club said it could not comment further, external because of the "ongoing investigation" but added it was "being proactive in seeking statements for the investigation".
