Two men have been charged with murder six years after the death of a man following an assault.

Cameron Devlin, 34, sustained a serious injury to his shoulder in an assault by a group of men in North Street, Brighton, in December 2019.

He died five days later due to complications.

Following an extensive investigation, Oliver Priddle, 25, and Niraj Amaidas, 24, have both charged with murder and with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, Sussex Police said.

Mr Priddle has also been charged with possessing a Class C drug.

Mr Amaidas, of Colwyn Close, Crawley, and Mr Priddle, of Peacock Lane, Brighton, are due to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Det Insp James Meanwell said: "This has been a lengthy and complex investigation, which has taken a considerable period of time to reach this stage.

"Following the conclusion of all necessary enquiries, charges have now been authorised.

"Our thoughts remain with Cameron's family, and they will be fully supported as proceedings continue."
