A police investigation is under way following reports of a shooting in a street in Derby.

Derbyshire Police said it happened on Cowsley Road in Chaddesden between 12:35 and 13:25 BST on Wednesday.

Officers were called to reports of "an altercation and discharge of a firearm" involving two men and a teenage boy, the force added.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray but has since been released on bail.

The force described it as an "isolated incident" but said there would be an increased police presence in the area while officers carried out their inquiries.
