Runners in the Brighton Half Marathon will start and finish at a new location for the first time in the event's history, organisers have said.

Dubbed the "UK's Happiest Half", the race - which supports HIV charity The Sussex Beacon - is back with a new home at Hove Lawns.

Now in its 35th year, it has moved from Madeira Terrace, which is awaiting a major restoration, "to accommodate the continued growth of the event".

More than 10,000 runners are expected to take on the 13.1-mile seafront course in Brighton and Hove, with the main race on Sunday 2 March.

The Youth Races will take place the day before, on Saturday 1 March.

The event is the single biggest annual fundraiser for The Sussex Beacon, which provides specialist support and care for people living with HIV.

The Youth Races are supported by Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, which works in partnership with local hospitals, respite centres and specialist services across Sussex such as The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit.
