Jury sworn in for Sara Sharif murder trial

A jury has been sworn in for the trial of three people accused of killing 10-year-old Sara Sharif, who was found dead in her Surrey home.
Sara's father Urfan, 42, her stepmother Beinash Batool, 30, and her uncle Faisal Malik, 29, are charged with murder.
All three have pleaded not guilty.
The trial at the Old Bailey is expected to last about nine weeks.
The three defendants, who lived with Sara before her death in August last year, are also charged with causing or allowing the death of a child, which they deny.
Mr Sharif, Ms Batool and Mr Malik travelled to Islamabad, Pakistan, on 9 August 2023, the day before her body was found.
A previous court hearing was told police found Sara's body after receiving a call from Pakistan, which lasted eight minutes and 34 seconds, in the early hours of 10 August.
The three defendants were arrested on their return to the UK on 13 September and were charged two days later.
A post-mortem examination found Sara had sustained "multiple and extensive injuries" before her death.
However, the actual cause of her death is still yet to be established.
