Man appears in court over death of cyclist

A man has appeared in court charged with death by dangerous driving following a fatal crash involving a cyclist.
Graham Johnson died in hospital on 25 July 2024 after earlier being involved in a collision with a white Vauxhall Insignia which was being driven on Easterly Road in Leeds.
Appearing at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Monday, Darren Jarrett, 47, was also charged with causing death by driving without due care and consideration while unfit through drugs.
Mr Jarrett, of Amber Gardens, Gipton, who did not enter a plea, was given unconditional bail and was scheduled to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 17 November.
