A 40-year-old man has died in a crash between a car and a lorry.

Northamptonshire Police said it happened at about 06:40 GMT on Monday on the A43 Stamford Road at Deenethorpe, near Corby.

A green Omoda E5 car and a white Mercedes lorry collided while travelling in opposite directions.

The driver of the Omoda was pronounced dead at the scene. His front-seat passenger, a woman in her 30s, was taken to University Hospital Coventry with suspected serious injuries.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
