Attempted murder arrest after double stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a double stabbing in Derby city centre.

Officers were called to Curzon Street at about 04:35 BST on Sunday, where two men were found injured.

Both of the men, in their 20s, were taken to hospital where one was treated for life-threatening injuries, Derbyshire Police said.

The force said a man in his 20s had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A second man, also in his 20s, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article.

Curzon Street was cordoned off on Sunday and police said their investigation was continuing.
