A dog had to be rescued from a fell after getting stuck on a ledge.

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) said a woman and her two dogs were climbing down Eagle Crag in the Lake District on Thursday when one of the animals got into difficulty.

The owner was struggling to get the dog down and called the rescue team at about 17:17 BST.

Two volunteers scrambled up to the dog and put it in an animal sack, which the team then lifted to safety using a rope system.

The rescue took about five hours, a spokesperson said.
